EXCELLENT! We bought the Sea Eagle for our 3 month, 15,000 mile, trip from Tennessee to Alaska. It was extremely easy to store, space was a premium, and took no time to inflate/deflate. It maneuvered with ease around the large icebergs on the Valdez Glacier Lake. Wind came up while on Chilko Lake , BC but was no issue. Highly suggest the upgrade in seats, they were very comfortable.

I have to say that II was very pleased with my purchase of the 380x. The quality and workmanship is superb! I like how it handles the inland lake that I have used in in so far. This next year, I plan on purchasing a 393rl for each of my kids so they too can enjoy the outdoors on the water. We plan on taking the boats on some rivers that we would like to explore. Stay tuned!

Excellent piece of equipment, easy to carry, stable and easy to maneuvre in water, I also bought an Onata electric pump and the fitting does not adjust quite well, I have to hold it, it should be unerversal

LOVE! I have used this boat 1-3 times a week since Christmas unless the weather is crazy bad. It does great at cold temperatures. I live in Idaho and really enjoyed paddling around the ice on my half-frozen river.

The fabric has held up wonderfully. I've gotten in some scrapes and it hasn't torn yet. The skeg mount did crack pretty early on. I got a new one but haven't replaced it yet because I'm a little nervous about doing it.

This is definitely not the fastest kayak you can buy, but it'll go the distance. It's crazy sturdy—great for gear, dogs, kids, or nervous adults. I often have a passenger paddling with me, but the majority of the time I'm paddling alone. It handles great.

I have the upgraded seats, which I like. I can't speak to the sturdiness of the carrying case because I never use it. I just fold the thing up and put it in the back of my car. That's pretty much where it's lived for 8 months.

Pro tip: This boat makes a great camping bed when slightly deflated.

I have used this over a couple of 5 day solo canoe wild camping trips in Scotland and Wales, with Grade II rapids, as well as at a Whitewater Centre. I chose the 380x as I wanted a very tough stable kayak that could handle whitewater as well as long distances on the flat, whilst being stable and able to take lots of gear. The 380x has delivered in spades. It handled the whitewater really well, and whilst other solid canoes had to keep stopping to bail water out, the self-draining holes worked brilliantly. I just left them open for the whole of the 5 day trips, but because of the drop stitch floor, the water stays out of the way so you are not sitting in a puddle all the time. She handled really well in the rapids, and was manoeuvrable enough despite being fully loaded. We bashed into rocks and trees, with no problems, you just bounce off the rocks. She tracks well on the flat, without too much yawing.

To improve: more D rings at the front, and a 'collapsable' skeg for scraping over rocky shallows.

We've done lakes and the ocean even with rough winds and waves - no problem. The test was the rapids and it required a lot of skill and power to steer the boat. This was only possible alone and probably tested my limit and the limit of the boat. But I find that very impressive as it seems to be able to handle it all. We are very happy with it!

Tried 308X on class I-II Verde River section as a two seater, 6 hours run. Two men (60y+), first time in same boat on narrow river with partial strainers and sweepers, rocky bars, rapids, long "quiet" sections for recovery (not used:). Minimal cargo load: pump/repair bad, dry change bag, some snack.

1. Started with open self-bailing drains. Without any "splashing" got 2-3 inches of water ABOVE THE FLOOR. Kayak control was still good, but clearly affected by "loose fluid mass" and deeper seating in water. Got stuck on shallow rocks once or twice, both cases resolved without swims.

2. For the second half of the trip drainages were closed. Boat became lighter, more responsive. Few occasional splashes did not add a lot of water.

3. In one of my trips solo (class III) never had water above the floor, even with full load for camping and serious waves (face wash), self-bailing was almost instant. Never bothered by water build-up.

Conclusion: for serious runs - solo only. For recreational duo - close the drains.

Great kayak. Always wanted an inflatable. Worth the money. Very durable and works great for me and my wife.

Taking it on a 6 month cross country trip this summer and hope to get much use out of it.

The con: gauge on the SUP4 pump does not work so I have to guess at the pressure

Frank Comeau Verified Owner 3/31/2023 5.0 out of 5 stars.

Customer service has been excellent from the time I called and ordered my 380x, received it and beyond. The kayak is sturdy, stable, responsive on the water and good looking. I am also impressed with how quickly it inflates with the electric pump as well as fast it totally deflates when the valves are open. The fact that it can accommodate a single person, or as many as three is a plus. In addition to paddeling, the fact that it can accommodate a motor or a sail is most impressive. Because I love to sail, I ordered my boat with the quick sail which is designed for downwind sailing. However, I discovered I could open the sail up and turn it sideways and convert my boat into a full-sailing kayak enable to tack. I know can use my 380x in just about any kind of water and wind direction. I have had many compliments and people wanting a picture of it when seen on the water. It has been a great ad for Sea Eagle since the name can be seen on the sail from all directions. I would recommend Sea Eagle to all
