We love our boats. We purchased both the 300 and 380. They are absolutely bullet proof. We have only done one float, a three day on the calm part of the Colorado, but our Sea Eagle boats performed well. I have the big one, which held an amazing amount of gear for our trip. I feel that they are tough, built for more river than I want to tackle, come with all of the features you would want on your boat (i.e. - tie downs, etc), and perform well on the water. I would recommend upgrading to the better seat, as the cheap one that comes with the 300 is marginal at best.

Very pleased with our boat. Durable and easy to set up and pack away. Seats are comfortable. The removable keel is essential for paddling straight in ponds or lakes. My only suggestion would be to design an easier on/off system for the keel. show full review ▼ It is hard to push on and secure.

This is a very nice inflatable. I previously had a SE370, which was nice, but this is so much better. I really like the stability of it. It is so much easier entering and exiting. My only problem is with the carrying wrap. The bag that the SE370 had, could carry the kayak, orrs, and inflater. The wrap can only carry the kayak.

Best decision of 2020!!! I have had my eye on a sea eagle for a bit and once shutdowns started to happen and concerts went away I used that money for a 380x. It is an awesome boat. Ideal size for 1-2 people and very fun on both the river and the lake. The fishing bench accessory is great for both holding fishing poles but also sitting on. It is absolutely awesome to be able to enjoy Montana’s beautiful mountain lakes without having to tow a boat! When deflated and wrapped in its cover it fits nicely in the bed or back seat of my small ford ranger. Some of my favorite days of 2020 have been out fishing and floating in my sea eagle!

The 380-x met all my expectations for a portable kayak. It is easy to transport, set up is relatively fast and easy, and the ride is very good for a inflatable kayak. I primarily use it as a one person, but find it rides well with one or two paddlers. I purchased the upgraded seats and paddles, and I can row for hours with this set up comfortably.

I got the sail kit and find it enjoyable to use in windy conditions.

I found that having a small convertible wagon is helpful to get all components to the riverside since combined can be awkward to carry.

Great purchase. We use this for 2 adults and 2 small kids. We will transition to 2 boats once kids are older. This gets us out onto the water (rivers and lakes) with a low entry cost. We didn't have to buy a trailer or clear space in the garage or buy a truck. This is relatively easy to set up and take down.

This would easily be a rating of five if not for two issues.

One of which being a critical design issue and the other being the customer service. The main issue is the new rudder/skeg design.

It’s poor to say the least.

It’s incredibly fragile to a point where the paddler needs to be in water deep enough that it has clearance from a sandy bottom before the skeg can be safely installed.

I’ve watched my friend and paddling partner destroy two in the space of a month.

The trip is an easy one with no rapids.

His boat had no more than 250-300lbs aboard and he’s an exceptionally experienced River tripper. If the skeg even brushed against a rock or firm bottom it would break.

This is completely unacceptable for how you are advertising this product.

This is a flat water with no rapids skeg design period.

If I were to change my review I would need to have sea eagle send me the old skeg system and some instruction on how to mount it to this new boat.

The old system had the long white plastic piece.

Many happy hours on the water, family felt safe going down numerous rivers and on multi day trips. Would definitely recommend them from a safety perspective and for the size (we had two in a roof box).

Only gripe is all the ties frayed on the triangular storage bag for the pumps, the elastic rope restraints' used for storage on the back and front of the kayak also frayed and the seat belt straps holding the inflatable base also frayed. All within days of receiving them.

Sea Eagle's reply:

Thank you for the review Kent. We will gladly assist you with any undue wear on your 380x. Please not that all of our products are covered under warranty.

Love the 380x. Very stable and fun craft and have been on the lake almost everyday since I received it and have had the chance to take it on a few rivers as well. I highly recommend the boat as it is easy to set up and store.

I do have two questions for the staff.

1. Can the sail attachment allow the boat to go against the wind? (Opposite direction to the wind 45 degrees agianst it or does the sail remail in a fixed position?)

2. Can you please please provide a video of the 380x using a trolling motor. It would be great to see how well it performs with the side mount against the wind and in different conditions.

Next year I'm going to purchase a Razorlite to have some additional options.
